Want to reduce the noice and just focus on things with a little more meat - the this category is for you. Like so much on this site we have a ‘WIP’ as i take some out - and put some in - but safe for at least starting in 2026.
The People’s OS
Back in the archives of People First I used to talk about ‘The People’s OS’. 🔗 Here for example. It sat together with something that I also called HumanIT. In many ways playful ideas on a tech first world that even then was apparent - much less today. (Hat tip to my friend Jeff Orgel who gave me ‘HumanIT’.) (And now you know why I started ‘People First’.)
Reading this today makes me think that this movement might just be an idea whose time has finally come … (another hat tip - this one to ‘Victor’.)
It's Incredible How Supposed 'Pros' Just Don't Get It.
Back on Apple. Specifically the difficualty people who should know better continue to fail miserably at understanding the company - and if they don’t understand - how can they explain?
Ready To Choose Sides Yet?
I have always been adamant. I am English. British at best. And that is why I remain on a US Green Card - which historically raised eyebrows. It hasn’t alwayss been easy - but right now feeling good about it.

Work Life Balance - AGAIN.
Long said that the whole work/life balance problem ‘solves the wrong problem really well’. For example - 🖇️ me, nearly six years ago
I conclude …
Does John Mayall feel fulfilled? Well, needless to say, I can’t speak for him - but I think he does. Is he the richest musician on the planet? Not by a long way. Is he the most well known? Not at all. But I’d wager he is one of the most fulfilled people out there. And not a work-life balance equation to be seen.
Just read this in Gaping Void

[@Dave](https://micro.blog/Dave) asked the question about Wordland as to whether I was surprised that having posted something … the screen didn’t clear. I get it and understand why the decision was made .. but it still caught me out.
[@om](https://micro.blog/om) is using Wordland to create a new kind of Daily post.
🎥 Barbie, 2023 - ★★★★

Finally got around to it and … Marvelous .. and I’m not even a fan of ‘musicals’. So good that it needs to be rereleased.

Improving Life - One Step at a time.
I started ‘a process’ this past weekend and then Mark Manson sent ‘me’ an email this morning …
TWO THINGS FOR YOU TO ASK YOURSELF
What do you want to be great at?
What can you do today so you’re a little better tomorrow?
Recommended: Use these as journaling prompts for the week.
ONE THING FOR YOU TO TRY THIS WEEK
Get a little better at that one thing you want to excel at this week. Let me know how it goes.
Remember: Small changes lead to lasting breakthroughs.
###Trying
🎥 The Laundromat, 2019 - ★★★★

Just a great one, that I saw in the theaters when it came out and logging it now .. 5 years later. Has it stood the test of time? No idea, have a watch and you decide.
Generation Beta?
I think describing who I am, what I want and need and everything else besides based on my age is baloney and claptrap. Hell - I’d put more money on being defined by astrology. But still this bunk persists.
It’s getting weirder.
🎥 Sicario, 2015 - ★★★★

Good cast, gritty and wrestles with that eternal question that the world still faces today … even more so … how do you fix the problem of really bad guys by being good guys that don’t break the law.
