πŸ”— Maybe There Is an I in Team - Now I Know - writes Dan Lewis. He clearly doesn’t follow me. A reminder for all ….

There might not be an β€˜I’ in ’tEaM’ .. but there is definitely a β€˜ME’

πŸ’¬ ME

πŸ”— Will this be the Chinese Century?

Probably yes, though that may not mean what people expect.

Had a play with πŸ”— AI Site Builder from Wordpress. It’s going to take some tunings and prompts to make it really play nice - requiring time I have not got for a project I do not have. Still. Interesting.

Time To Self Medicate

πŸ”— The Thought

Is Silicon Valley a destination, or just part of the journey?

… and where is it anyway?

… oh and why, despite the best attempts, countries all over the world seem to fall short of replicating it.

Pattern Breakers | Breaking The Mold

πŸ”— Pattern Breakers | Breaking The Mold

I don’t particularly recommend books.

I recommend people.

Mike Maples is one of those people.

Charity Is Doomed To Fail

πŸ”— Charity Is Doomed To Fail

If you don’t know who Dan Palotta is - you should.

This is a short introduction to him, his ideas and his work and how it ties to something I wrote nearly 10 years ago.

We built πŸ”— The Future Found with these principles at core.

Work Life Balance

πŸ”— The Thought

Chris Lockhead dropped a post on LinkedIN regarding retirement.

To me retirement is the macro version of the daily work-life balance.

It solves the wrong problem really well.

If you use Bluesky - and you like to tinker - well - say good bye to your Easter Weekend …

πŸ”— Graze - a Custom Feed Builder for Bluesky

I was having a couple o’ beers last night with a friend and of course our conversation drifted into a gamut of topics - including music - I mean with me - doesn’t it always? But also masks. Oh and the connectedness of things. And prior lives and … and … and on the way home my mind recalled something I wrote a few years ago;

πŸ”— When You Connect The Dots - You Don’t Always Reach The Right Conclusion

Enjoy.

Yet another πŸ”—πŸŽ΅AlbumWhale list.

As the intro says …

I am not a singles guy BUT there are some wonderful tracks out there, that wouldn’t make it to my lists if not careful. This list of albums is made up of albums that are only there because it includes one very specific track - which is WHY the album is here. (Not to say it isn’t a good album - not that other songs aren’t great, and is all to say that the track named on the album notes is why the album is on the list. 🎡 I also have an apple playlist of the featured tracks.

πŸ”— Israel is About to Empty Gaza - Chris Hedges

I find that Hedges often stands out by speaking out - loudly - about things that nobody even talks about. It used to be real hard to have that courage. Today? We should be pinning medals on him - except he would probably refuse them.

πŸ”— Report Reveals Internal Chaos Behind Apple’s Siri Failure

Another link I got to thanks to Gruber. Re linking for one reason ….

The Set UP

… more than half a dozen former employees who worked in Apple’s AI and machine-learning group

… and we go on to learn that internally the group are referred to ‘AI/ML’ and then

BOOM

Apple’s AI/ML group has been dubbed “AIMLess” internally

Welcome to Structured Visual Thinking New York City.

This caught my eye this morning …. πŸ”— NYC subway map updated with a diagrammatic style - FlowingData

FINALLY

Reminded me of 2 YouTubes by Map Men’s Jay Foreman

πŸ”—πŸ“Ό The Tube Map nearly looked very different

πŸ”—πŸ“Ό What went wrong with the Tube Map?

Around 7:45 in video 2 is where Jay highlights the fiasco that is (now moving to was) the New York map …

with the notable exception of the New York subway that insists on being as baffling and ugly as possible.

Do watch HIGHLY recommend - and definitely not a map nerd. (particularly)

πŸ”— Mapped: Which Countries Produce the Most Silver?

… in case you are wondering;

  • Mexico is at number one - and double the country in second place.

  • The U.S.A. is at number nine - producing around a third of that same country in second place.

Number 2? JINA

Just posted this on LinkedIN …

Go back a while and I used to explain the difference in the politics of the US, where I lived and the UK, where I’m from .. in that the vast majority of the β€˜left’ in the US were still to the right of the vast majority of the β€˜right’ in the UK. No analysis, just how I felt as a dude on his life’s journey. Thank you for providing the explanation that supports my long held feelings.

… as a comment on a Simon Wardley post - πŸ”— which you can find here

I love how he is broadening out his subject matter from his maps - but still ties them in.
