Carter didn’t enter politics until he was 42, running for State Senate. While Governor in 1973 he appeared on the game show “What’s My Life,” saying he was running for President. While the panelists weren’t blindfolded, no one recognized him. His entire political life lasted just 14 years.
Jimmy Carter was a man completely outside his time, and outside his place, from the moment of his birth until his death. He wasn’t a great orator. He wasn’t a wartime leader. Yet no one in 20th century America has proven more important, based on the strength of his example, and his steadfast belief that we can be better than we are.

Tripped over this last night. It’s from a couple of years ago (but really the whole point of the piece is that differences are deeply rooted - and thus relatively timeless). An interesting piece even of itself., even more so if you read it and draw parallels with other parts of the world.
The boundaries on the map drawn are ‘cultural boundaries’, reflecting what people feel and how they relate to each other in the U.S.A.

I wrote an email this morning, responding to something that had been sent to me, announcing - and I paraphrase - that despite the longevity of the work that he had been personally driving for decades, he has decided that this was indeed - ‘the end’.
I guess it is one of those days, where every where you look, every page you turn emotion takes over and (at least for me), music takes hold.
Because I - and indeed he - are ‘of a certain age’, ‘The End’ came to mind. (If you aren’t of a certain age - I commend you to watch just one (if not all three) of the YouTubes below.) If you are of a certain age - you don’t need me to tell you.

New Zealand | Unrecognized Leadership
If the UK and/or the USA could find more leaders that demonstrate the qualities of Jacinda Arden, wouldn’t both surely be better off for it?
Sadly, she’s had her run, the voters are not going her way hence her resignation. ‘Hitch’ is being allowed to reset the agenda and so far at least, seems to be turning the ‘anti-Labour’ tide. Make no mistake though, yes, she took some wrong turns but the problems being laid at her feet won’t go away with new leaders. It’s a global problem … and despite New Zealand managing to punch well above their international weight over the last few years … these global issues are exactly that … global.

There are so many things in 🔗 this article by Dana F. Blankenhorn that I have highlighted, that had I spent time calling them out, well, you might just as well have clicked through to read it.
It pretty much opens with;

The 🔗 Beckn protocol “allows you to create open and decentralized digital ecosystems”. So far, the word ‘blockchain’ is mentioned nowhere (that I have found). I also haven’t found how it handles ‘identity’ before it facilitates a transaction, though it says it does ‘identify each other’ but I’m not sure that is the same thing?
Can anyone share their experiences. It looks really interesting from a ‘People First’ perspective.
