@numericcitizen ah ha! got it - thank you - it gets really confusing when you have a new app - rather than an extension to a current app - and yet you have to go the original app to do something like this.

@numericcitizen Inoreader does similar I believe .. but otherwise don’t all other readers require their own dedicated OPML .. as far as I can see even the old reeder and the new reeder use their own OPML?

@amerpie nice I guess an extension of this could be (using your word example) set .doc to always open as md .. when you do octarine quietly converts and bobs your uncle ..?
