@iconfactory it is definitely not working for me as i would expect … @manton - we never worked out what was going on with my account - couldn’t signin with apple etc - and verify links getting lost. Eventually I moved on … but this might be related? will dig out the correspondence and resend …

I did manage to follow my json feed of my own account - but i don’t see a use case for that?

@MitchW exactly and readwise is fine for a few select RSS feeds - but it overwhelms easily

@MitchW I use reeder for rss and am a readwise user of many years if that helps? Btw - classic reeder not the old one. I also very much like NNW.

@iconfactory so even tho micro.blog is listed it doesn’t work at the moment? It won’t even send me a verify code.

Sharing them because Elmo is particularly pissed that his mini-Musks have been outed.

Elmo - you can’t even begin to understand what that means. Maybe one day. But not yet.

@apoorplayer the trouble is that headlines these days often have no relevance to what is in the actual piece.

@Mtt the plug in directory needs better filtering from top to bottom - sounds like ‘will it work with micro.one or does in need micro.blog’ might be another filter.

“An accurate definition of an internet “creator” would have to be: someone whose income is determined by a platform’s algorithms.

seems not quite right …

  • the internet has many platforms - and a creator could be using many of them - all with different algos
  • what if there are no algos?

why not something like

an internet “creator” would have to be someone whose income is sourced primarily through ‘harnessing the power’ the internet.

and yes that might include say people who self publish on Amazon - but does not include people who publish through ‘legacy publishers’ …

and then it might not include (say) ‘The Information’ - but probably should include ‘Ben Thompson’ - so something about ‘individuals’ not organisations …

and then there is someone like even Daniel and Manton - should they be included?

PS

Not sure why it matters - maybe a separate discussion.
