@patrickrhone this kind of action takes me back a year or two and always reminds me of people that recognize they aren’t a lone voice but one voice of many.

> You know, if one person, just one person does it they may think he’s really sick and they won’t take him.
> And if two people, two people do it, in harmony, they may think they’re both ▪️▪️▪️▪️ and they won’t take either of them.
> And three people do it, three, can you imagine, three people walking in singin a bar of Alice’s Restaurant and walking out.
> They may think it’s an organization. And can you, can you imagine fifty people a day, I said fifty people a day walking in singin a bar of Alice’s Restaurant and walking out.
> And friends they may thinks it’s a movement.

@frankm I believe there are a lot of things in the constitution that we thought weren’t ‘allowed’ but suddenly .. maybe they are?

We live in a different world with different rules.

@peterw @manton slight nuance .. when I replied to Peter’s comment - it worked as expected. It seems to be to do with looking at thread and not responding that causes the issue.

@hawaiiboy they’re ahead of you

> California Secretary of State Shirley Weber has approved a ballot initiative allowing the collection of signatures for a potential vote on California’s independence from the U.S. in 2028. The measure, led by Marcus Evans, would require over 546,000 valid signatures by July 22, 2025, to qualify. If placed on the ballot and approved by voters, it would express a “vote of no confidence” in the U.S. but would not legally separate California from the country. Instead, it would establish a commission to study the feasibility of independence.
