🎶🎼🎵Dave Grohl calls Liam Gallagher “one of the last remaining rock stars”
I like Dave Grohl. I’m enjoying his new book. But that doesn’t mean to say I agree with him on everything.
This is one of those. Vehement disagreement.
1971 : 🚀 🧙♂️🎵
David Bowie’s Glam Masterpiece ‘Hunky Dory’ Turns 50
In his book Never A Dull Moment: 1971 The Year That Rock Exploded, British music journalist David Hepworth lays out a case for considering 1971 as the most consequential year (from beginning to end) in music.
… which reminded me of 1971 - The Year That 🎵🎼 Music Changed Everything - excellent series.
🎶 🎵 Revisiting 'Odessey and Oracle'
Revisiting Odessey and Oracle today after listening to the Rockentours talking to Colin Blunstone.
Great Songs.
🎶🎵 If you haven’t heard New Zealand’s Maori Metal band ‘Alien Weaponry’, you are missing out.
This video touches on my reasoning. I’m not a metal lover … but a sucker for musicians driven by a passion with a message.
The video tells the story behind one of their songs.
🎶🎵 The Helicopter Of The Holy Ghost is a great new album.
The back story of why it has taken 20 years for the songs to surface is mind wrenching. It stands unique - but closest ‘sound like it could be’ comp would be Blackfield.
🎵 May I introduce you to
Nick Beggs, Craig Blundell and Adam Holzman
AKA
‘Trifecta’
AKA
… the extraordinary musicians that are the ‘backing band to Steven Wilson’s ‘solo’ work.
Wonderful album.
I watched the first two seasons of Peaky Blinders a while back, Finally got round to Seasons 3 to 5 - not disappointed.
After such a binge - time to switch to something completely different.
Jack Irish!
“I thought you finished watching Peaky came the voice from the kitchen.”
I had - the two shows happened to choose the same Nick Cave song as it’s theme.
🎶🎵Mesmerising (links to video)
To remind - many of us have this capability sitting in our pocket - likely unused!
🎵🎶 Dream Theater has a new album coming out - launch track just dropped.
Stunning

… now this looks like a place I want to visit next time I’m in town.
🎵 In my mind - not surprising, but Apple is doing a great job with music;
- 1971
- McCartney 3, 2, 1
- Mark Ronson’s ‘Watch The Sound’
All really excellent.

Eclectic ?
Yes … but that’s what yesterday’s musical selection was meant be.
🎶 Scott Weiland and Robert Trujillo’s sons have formed a new band called Blu Weekend
I’m getting old … Scott Weiland’s son?
🎶 “Steve Howe, Alan White, Geoff Downes, Jon Davison and Billy Sherwood” … how many incarnations of Yes can you fit into one?
