🔗 Johnson Warns Jeffries Could Become Speaker

‘Warns’ …

… the article suggests Hakim is the House Minority Leader- I would suggest that if indeed he ‘assumes the mantle’, that he would then be the House Majority Leader … it’s just that the definition of which ‘majority’ ii is - like different to the usual donkeys and elephants.

At the beginning of the year I had grand plans for this series. A daily long-form post about something that was rattling my brain that day. And then life. For a while, I was even just dropping markers - to revisit. I came to realise that part of the problem was the complexity of the structure for each post - so that went away. Simplicity really is rather nice. As I write on 240413, I am now going back and filling in the gaps. PLUS - unless something strikes me immediately, I will not classify until the end of the day and go back to move one of the posts of the day into the 366. Also - if you are wondering how I have update the words at the bottom of over 100 posts at a stroke, well - THANK YOU Andy Sylvester and his Glossary plugin.

🔗 The great list of all the blog platforms.

I scrolled and scrolled and thought …. he’s forgotten Montaigne.

But he hadn’t. Why did I doubt?

More importantly, Did you know there were this many blogging platforms out there?

🔗 🎙️ Can you patent a pizza?

Good question.

TL;DR - yes … yes you can.

BUT, apparently it means nothing, because you still need to be big and with deep pockets to protect that patent - because otherwise them large corporations - hell they invented the 💩

I think this is a great list …

Do I agree?

YUP.

📸 Two perspectives - at least two in my mind.

I don’t know .. I am sorry to ask, I just wonder if anyone else thinks this is a croc?

It just tends to be how we talk in England.

Have to say, I don’t recall it .. being so young and all .. but I agree, hard to see how we could make it work in 2024.

All you font wonks out there .. you definitely will enjoy, but then .. non don’t wonks can also enjoy .. I run an inclusive blog.

🎈091/366 - It's Historical ...

🖇️ After this .. another one from May last year. This one wasn’t as ‘finished, so tweaked a bit for clarity.

Separate question - what was going on in my life in May last year?

Just off a loooong web session with 50 or 60 very wise people talking about AI and ESG. Specifically ‘The Future of Sustainable Decisions in the Boardroom.’ Great session, and they are regular sessions, so ping me if you would like to join the next one.

It came up, so I will report … though I have said this before AND I am going to keep saying it in different ways.

AI used to be about being the best. If the chess program couldn’t beat a grand master then clearly it wasn’t very good. And then it was - so then they said what about ‘GO’ … it never won - and then it did. Clearly AI doesn’t work - until it does.

But this stuff is new.

Yes - it doesn’t write like Stephen King or paint like Monet .. but most of us don’t and …

AND that’s not the point.

The point is that it can write better than the average person.

So (to begin with ) only the below average people will be replaced.

Problem 1 - ask anyone how good they are at anything - they will ‘generally’ see themselves as ‘better than average’.

Problem 2 - statistically - 50% of those people are wrong.

Problem 3 - a substantial part of the population can’t see it coming.

This video is more recent and is an ad - been circulating in places like the book of faces - but makes for a good two minute watch and relates.

From The Annals Of History

Tucked away in Obsidian I came across some files that had found their way to the repository. This on in particular caught my eye. It is dated May last year. (which would put me in Palm Desert, if that provides any context?)

Posting it now - as rediscovered.

Sorry … no photo. I hope you understand and no judgement.

Male, not a big man, but neither petite … sporting blue lipstick.

Back and sides of head razor shaved.

Pony tail sprouting vertically from the middle of the top of the head.

Pink framed mirrored sunglasses.

50s style flowered house coat.

Thick woolen socks and ‘working’ boots.

This the haute couture for one customer in the local supermarket..

Just a test from Obsidian.

My list is long - and so I made a list of lists.
My list of lists was also long.
So I consolidated some individual items into - well … lists.
So my list of lists is now shorter.
BUT
The number of things in a specific item on the list of lists are many.
Not yet ready to introduce the concept of a list of lists of lists.

In other words …

  • List ✅
    • List of Lists ✅
      • List of Lists of Lists

🔗 LLMs and reputation management is an interesting take by Don Marti on a problem we don’t seem to talk too much about - but you can see it developing.

Taylor Swift and Kpop - that’s (just about) it.

Nice - and prolly right. Which reminds me.

Blogrolls …

On the @dave blogroll 🔗 at scripting.com his order pushes blogs with ‘latest post’ to the top - any plans on something like that for Micro Blog @manton ?
