Interesting, never had so many unsubscribes from a single newsletter - whilst at the same time getting shares, new free subscribers and even adding paying ones.

The Seven Social Sins

  • Wealth without work.
  • Pleasure without conscience.
  • Knowledge without character.
  • Commerce without morality.
  • Science without humanity.
  • Religion without sacrifice.
  • Politics without principle.

🎙️ The Porn Bellwether - Martini Shot

A lot of information we know - but its how the story is told that keeps me engaged. This time Rob predicts the future of the entertainment industry - and who he expects to be the winners. (No spoiler Alert, cos I’m not gonna tell you.)

AND - if you don’t want to click through to Twitter I understand - so 🖇️ click here.

By all means try it out, but it is more a personal experiment.

🎥 Cave of Bones, 2023 - ★★★

I think it could have been done in 30 minutes rather than ‘90’ … interesting, but if the findings are as revolutionary as they intimate, not sure why it isn’t more widely talked about? Or am I … once again … hanging out under a rock?

You know the weather is playing up when your Nest is displaying ‘information’ that you have never seen before … air quotes because an amber icon is definitely trying to tell me something … but what?

🔗 The microblogging ecosystem post Twitter

There won’t be one Twitter killer. Instead, the platform’s decline has opened up the world of microblogging.

💬 Adam Tinsworth

Nice summary from @adders on the state of whatever it is that the ‘Twitter Wars’ are all about. My take - he’s not wrong. I often reference Timothy Ruff on this …

.. though he in turn says we should thank Mike Masnick for the wisdom. Either way, what we all should be rooting for includes ‘open’, ‘portable’, ‘transparent’, you know … all the stuff that people should care about - but somehow the vast majority seem not to.

Protocols are the answer. The trick will need the corporations to give way on their walled garden mentality and the engineers building this brave new world to understand that the other 99.999999999% of the world won’t do it if it is ‘too hard’ - and ‘too hard’ means for the average person - not the MIT rocket scientist.
