So now 6 year olds are carrying.
Dear Apple … you clearly understand I blocked the channel, so why are you still showing it to me?
A very current old observation.

“I ignore polling as a method of government. I think that shows a certain weakness of mind, an inability to chart a course. Whichever way the wind blows. Whichever way the media encourages the people to go, you follow. You’re not a leader.”

Proud Boys, Oath Keepers, QAnon: Their status two years after Jan. 6
Did I fall asleep for a year? Might explain how things got this bad ‘so quickly’.
This Is the Sea by The Waterboys
Hard to decide between this and Fisherman’s Blues. This wins out because it was my first exposure to them.
The Inner Mounting Flame (with John McLaughlin) by Mahavishnu Orchestra
It was 1971 when I was first exposed to John (Mahavishnu) McLaughlin through this album. I keep it in the ‘Jazz/Rock Fusion’ box .
📚Just added The Housekeeper and the Professor by Yoko Ogawa to my ‘want to read’ list - recommended by a long time friend from my Uni days.
Drafts AND Pinboard
IF you use Drafts and Pinboard and you want to get your links out of Pinboard - well - the mighty @Agiletortoise has thought of that and just published a new action …. here.
Works beautifully.
Now I have 13,259 drafts in my archive folder (don’t judge). Next step is to work out how to bulk export those drafts to a folder on the hard drive, so that I can create a new Obsidian vault..
Any and all ideas welcome.
I have done a bit of searching on Greg’s site - but not found anything yet.
(Then again I am perfectly capable of opening a fridge and not see the milk on the shelf right in front of my eyes.)
Neither do I … but the Unions have been systemically destroyed for years … so it isn’t surprising because we live in a #me world

🎥 Amsterdam, 2022 - ★★★★
Been on my list since it came out and was not what I expected. Took 15 to 20 minutes to recalibrate. But I did. Really good. If I closed my eyes, the audio and dialogue reminded me of a Wes Anderson project (close your eyes .. the visuals are nothing like Wes. Bale was great .. at time channeling Peter Falk’s ‘Columbo’ … or is that just me?
I should probably declare my madness up front .. looking at microblog, literal, storygraph and Goodreads … and they all have different books and statuses. Has anyone exported to csv from all the apps, merged and deleted records and then reimported?
Mem.ai … because what we need is another notes app … and no, I haven’t tried it.
If you like craft beer and you live in LA .. looks like your choices have been reduced because of not one … but TWO micro brewery closures …
“Mumford Brewing and King Harbor have both suddenly shuttered, leaving behind questions about LA’s craft beer scene.”
I THINK this might be a record.
3rd January - Subscribed.
5th January - Unsubscribed.
📺 Foundation
First series of ‘Foundation’ on Apple. (I say ‘first’ - because I believe ‘two’ is already in production).
Great spectacle. Not sure it told the story as well as I remember the books, though to be fair I read them a long time ago.
Master of the understatement …
📺 Jack Ryan
Finished the third series of Jack Ryan on Prime last night. Best of the three .. and the first two weren’t that shabby as the genre goes.
