I just read something about a ‘Marketing Startup’ … my brain understood ‘Marketing Standup’.
I think my brain was correct.
🎥 Mr. Harrigan's Phone, 2022 - ★★★★

Maybe because I have recently been watching some below average / average movies recently - that this one stands out. On another day. I might rate it at 3 1/2 stars - but leaving at 4 for now.
Here’s the question … coincidence … or action from the grave?
🎥 Skandal! Bringing Down Wirecard, 2022 - ★★★★

It’s a documentary - so move on if you don’t like them. Personally - big as the issue was - I totally missed the story when it was in the news. BUT very good. I would like to have seen more delving into the Libyan connections - rather than a ‘simple’ fraud - maybe there will be a part two?
🎥 Cleanskin, 2012 - ★★½

Mindless. Watched as part of a binge-watch when I was feeling sorry for myself. Not too hard to keep up. Definitely don’t bother if you are sitting down to ‘watch a movie’.
🎥 Thor: Love and Thunder, 2022 - ★★★½

I have watched all the Thor’s and this one is VERY different - probably because Taika Waititi isn’t just the director (Thor - Ragnarok) but also the writer. Not sure what the ‘Marvel Heads’ will say / are saying … but for me it worked.
OK - I did it.
I am on Mastodon, with the handle @fractals@mastodon.social - no change.
BUT
I just reset my micro.blog generated mastodon account, so the old name is deleted and reset to
@microblog@john.philpin.com - which will just be my MicroBlog posts that are at John.Philpin.com automatically syndicated.
I think the change in naming from johnphilpin@john.philpin.com to microblog@john.philpin.com makes things a little clearer.
“We thought billionaires were playing 3D chess while we played checkers. It turns out they’re playing the same game, but on a more expensive board.”
I have never liked Cramer. Loud and Brash is just the start.
I also do not invest in stocks - BUT - were I to do that, I would start watching his recommendations a little more closely and do the exact opposite.
And gosh darn, wouldn’t you believe it 🍋 Inverse Cramer is a new ETF that allows anyone to do just that.
BTW, the click-through lists some interesting Cramer recommendations.
I don’t get it. I am sure (tbc) that Apple didn’t mislead people that the phone didn’t include a charger, so if it clearly says it on the box, then why can a Brazil court order Apple to reimburse customers for charger-less iPhones when they weren’t charged for it to begin with?
There’s been odd comments on Micro.Blog asking if @dave really is on MicroBlog.
🔗 This post comparing Substack to Micro.blog definitely records that ‘yes it is him’, ‘yes he set up the feed’ and ‘no he hasn’t been active in here’.
24 hours in … the recalibration needed to use Spark3 is hard.
I could open a store with the number of new Makita Power Drills that I seem to have won.
I wonder if I could earn enough from selling them to allow me to ‘settle (my) debts to avoid additional fees’.
Judging by the notifications they are apparently building up. 🤪
If you keep doing UTurns, you will get dizzy and fall over.
Interesting how 🎬 Amsterdam and 🎙️ Ultra seem to be connected by the same true story.

🎥 Blackout, 2022 - ★★½

Just like the character in the movie … I really can’t remember much. The script is out of some script hopper and this is the latest version of it,
I have a streaming cold … so in that respect perfect, too hard to switch off, and not much to track.
Night after night, this is my view, regularly delivering extraordinary sunsets. I decided it would be a perfect photo for the 24 hour challenge, so I waited all day.
Behold, the exception that proves the rule 🥹

🎥 Glengarry Glen Ross, 1992 - ★★★★½

30 years ago. Seriously? It feels just like yesterday. Of course … it could have been. The script is timeless.
The web has been broken … absolutely brilliant - you won’t be disappointed - except that most sites you normally got to do exactly this … which is of course - disappointing!
