β Review Ratings π₯ π πΊ
Movies - like music, books, art et al are not in a competition. I hate ‘best’ in those terms. So star ratings have always been hard for me. They have to be seen in the context of the reviewer. A β β β β β movie in this world is not necessarily better than a β movie - it’s just that is how I feel - at this time, in this context - rated against others that I have seen and maybe even against the book the movie was based on. All of this to say it is hard to use stars to compare quality across media.
And yet here we are … star ratings …
The inspiration for my β rating comes from @derekpeden - thank you sir, modified slightly to accommodate my personal watching habits.
If you got to this page by clicking on a link at the foot on one of my posts - the rating scale is below. If it is not tagged π Updated - I haven’t yet got round to normalising the rating you see.
You might also note that I am using β not βοΈ in the update posts - more ‘on brand’ and less TΡump π€

β β β β β So Good - A personal favourite
β β β β β Excellent - well worth a watch
β β β ββ Enjoyed - recommend
β β βββ Not Bad - BUT - only a 'kinda' recommendation. (Many caveats
β ββββ Not for me
