Interesting that still no discussion on the outsized roll 'bulk purchases' played in 'box office' rankings.
To me - the rankings emerge from 'tickets sold' - which typically equates to 'people viewed'.
This isn't the case with this movie, because large numbers of tickets were bought by 'faith groups' so that people could go see it for free. Except they didn’t.
The implication is that MORE people saw it after it had been out for a while than saw Mission Impossible on its opening weekend. They didn't, but the revenue from ticket sales did exceed that of Mission Impossible.
