Take Apple News vs iBooks - they’re both reading apps, so why is it necessary to have two separate apps? Because they’re extremely different reading and writing experiences and it doesn’t make sense to lump them into a one-size-fits-all approach.

Holy Crap
I have been so fed up with the slug that my M4 Mac had become around saving files - removing ‘moonlock’ and ‘clean my mac’, stopping electron files from running - firing up terminal commands as if my life depended on it. NADA.
So with a quick hail mary I jumped on to the 26.2 public beta (with the same joy and spirit as I did when I did something similar with 26.1 - and got no change …)
and yet …
… yet …
Here I am - a man no longer tortured - and what seems to be a massive upgrade in performance that 🍎 never - ever - fessed up to.
Let’s see if it holds.
Trouble shooting two totally different problems on two totally different macs with two totally different user accounts and after constant narrowing down of the issues in those worlds - BOTH come down to the user - login as a different user .. the issue is not there …
- Problem 1 - MSoft Office crashes and hangs
- Problem 2 - a stuttering mouse on any browser if going through Bluetooth

The logo in my email signature in 🍎📧 just stopped rendering earlier this week. Took until today to work out what was wrong - noting that I hadn’t changed anything.
As of this morning … fixed - though no idea why it stopped working to begin with.

Overall a fan of the liquid world - BUT (because there always has to be one) - why take away the big, bold volume and brightness indicators? Nothing like fumbling in the dark mid-Netflix to remind you that 🍎 is far from perfect.

I have settings throughout iPhone pointing at UK - not US .. but still I get US spelling recommendations. Just looked at Keyboard - noting it was US — and thought that would fix it - but apparently 🍎 thinks there is only one English language.
Or I am doing something wrong?
I like the idea of categorisation in 🍎 email and the 4 categories make sense to 🗂️ BUT sure would like the ability to add a couple more of my own. #EdgeCaseAgain

Take a transcript of last years presentation, search and replace old numbers with new numbers, use AI to insert audio of new words into the recording. Edit presenter backdrops with footage from SF. Hit play. Great demo 🍎.
I have been with 🍎🗺️ since the start and definitely felt the pain. But. BUT - thanks to Google I stuck with it.
Apple Maps is one of the best examples of the power of persistence I can think of. It started as a laughing stock, but now, for people in many countries, it’s arguably the best maps service.

I kid you not, so frustrated earlier today that I have had to calm down. All my iOS stuff not currently in use is kept in a single place. Yesterday the pile was - shall we say - ‘organised’. All stuff in same place - just a neater pile than usual.
Today, I went to pick up iPad and 🍎Pencil - and the pencil was missing. Nowhere. Seperated all devices out - and checked off one by one. Still nothing. I went to the places I usually use it - nada. Lifted couch cushions. Nothing. Stopped search. Started search. Frustration doesn’t even get to it. Two hours and then some. Negotiating with myself - that clearly it was a message from above that my old pencil had run its course - and I could now justify a super duper new one.
Here’s what I think happened.
The bank manager got hold of that rationale and somehow planted in my brain that I should take one more look. I did.
Did I mention the tray that sits beside the ‘iOS stuff’? I mean it’s there. It’s clearly not hiding - and I had looked under and all around it. The lip of the tray curves down so you can’t see anything behind the lip if you look ‘underneath from the side’. But I knew that and had already looked. I mean - how could anything really be there? It would just fall down again.
TODAY I LEARNED …
.. that the tray has sufficient Nickel plating that it can attract a magnet in say something like an Apple Pencil and snap that puppy nice and tight into and under that lip.

All those years ago the 🍎 Long and Hodgman ads were really very good and clever, definitely creative, truly fun. Interesting how the subsequent careers of the two actors developed to be nearly the exact opposite of the companies they represented.

Stunning .. great job from Colin F .. but the homage to ‘noir’ yet modern, the direction, the cinematography, the colors, the lights, the nuance … everything. Just so good.
I have read that people loved the mid season ‘twist’ …if we are talking last scene in episode 6 .. yeah no .. I had that scene in my head for a couple of episodes prior, so no twist for me. In fact, it happened to coincide with when I thought the show had finished .. and I 🖇️ even posted that I was very disappointed with the ending (EEJIT I am).
Anyway .. all this to say … loved it. If you have 🍎 📺, whatever else you are watching stop - and go take a look.
