🔗 Apple’s new AI problems have nothing to do with Siri

But let the Macalope get this straight: Apple is being sued for being not being callous enough about AI while also being sued for being insufficiently careful about AI?! It’s like you can’t win!

👺Interesting that in ‘olden days’ these kind of companies lurked in the shadows. Not any more. 🔗 Palantir Wants To Be The Government

I hear Thiel has buggered off to Argentina - so Karp has free rein to carp.

Getting banned from Elon Musk’s X for pointing out Palantir’s fascism has created more interest in my work.

The Irish tale of Oisín describes the warrior’s journey to Tir na nÓg, the land of youth. He spends three years there but when he returns to Éire to see his old fighting comrades from the Fianna, 300 years have passed.

And for a related 🎵 interlude …

Tír na nÓg are an Irish folk duo formed in Dublin, Ireland, in 1969 by Leo O’Kelly and Sonny Condell.[^cite_ref-LarkinGE_1-0][1] They are often considered one of the first progressive folk bands with other artists like Nick Drake or groups like Pentangle.

Not to be confused with Horslips - who along with Tír na nÓg were in constant circulation on ‘young John’s’ turntable back in the day. Almost certainly arrived at them via Pentangle and Fairport - but most definitely stood on their own. Still listen to Horslips to this day - not so much Tír na nÓg.

🔗 Software Eats Its Own – On my Om

The people who build software are busy wiring up the machines that will build software in their place. Call it automation. Call it augmentation. Call it whatever makes you sleep. What it actually is, is software industrialization, happening right in front of our eyes.

🔗 Rosabeth Moss Kanter is decribed by Wikipedia as

“The Thinking Woman’s Michael Porter".

Maybe more accurately Michael Porter is

“The Thinking Man’s “Rosabeth Moss Kanter”.

I mean Rosabeth was born 4 years before Michael.
