Just discovered series 9 … And yes I did watch series 1 to 8. They aren’t all a home run, but a solid, dependable show. My favorite character sadly disappeared after a couple of series.
Each show can be watched in its own right … there is an over all arc to the series .. but, it’s not necessary to enjoy and episode if you just want to dip in.
📺 Cowboy Bebop
Watched it ‘back then’ - reminded of it watching this and realized that I hadn’t added it. Fixed. ( I wouldn’t have bothered if it wasn’t worth it.)
📺 The Mandalorian
Just finished the third series. Most excellent. It even has ’Gus Fring in it🤪 On a more serious note, I do like the back stories that have been developed and released in the Star Wars and Marvel franchises. The special effects may not be as good, but the stories are far more engaging.
📺 Florida Man
It was ok. In the book world, you might describe it as one of those page turning ’potboilers’. Easy to watch without having to focus. If you miss it - don’t worry.
📺 Wednesday
Take Harry Potter, mix in some Umbrella Academy add in Tim Burton and away you go. I enjoyed the earlier part of the show more. The last two episodes started to soften up the Wednesday character - which for my taste just didn’t work. Jenna Ortega who’s name I did not know since I clearly live under a rock was absolutely perfectly cast.
📺 Better Call Saul
Stunning. I thought ‘Breaking Bad’ was good - but Saul - oh my. I know it has been around a while - and it is 6 seasons. But NO regrets.

📺 Shrinking
I had heard lots of good things about it - from more than a handful of people. Time to bite the bullet. It certainly wasn’t a dud - just one of those nice, gently humorous shows.
I did not know that one of the co-creators was Brett Goldstein (Ted Lasso), but still Shrinking is no Ted Lasso.
I think anybody that watches it could identify with at least one of the any diverse characters.
I wouldn’t say don’t watch it - but there are others I would recommend first.
📺 Unstable
Rob Lowe and his son. Written by his son. Think Eugene Levy. Except I’m a fan of Eugene … but have now tried Schitts Creek 3 times … and am still not there. So I wasn’t expecting too much when I started up this puppy. That’s the key I guess. Lower the expectations. Not bad at all, though shades of Mythic Quest?
📺 Sherwood
True Story - with artistic license. Couple of my favorite actors in it, which is why I gave it a shot. Turns out it also includes an actor called Adeel Akhtar .. who I didn’t spot at the time - but IMHO saved a movie I watched last night. (Link to come.)
📺 The Consultant
It started off really well, but for my taste, wandered off into a nothingness that I didn’t care about. I will watch the next series, but more because I so much enjoy watching Walz than any recommendation of the series. Shame really.
📺 Breaking Bad
I know. I know - but I have only just finished it. I can’t believe it took me so long. For those who haven’t yet watched it. Give it a whirl.
📺 Cunk On Earth
Just so very, very good. I still have one reservation that I referenced after the first two episodes .. (read the thread) but that shouldn’t stop you watching it.
📺 Jack Irish
Guy Pearce has been playing this part for a few years now. Solid show, good cast. Definitely worth trying ot. They are all self contained - but why not go back and try out the first and let it all unfold.
