Series 1 is being made into a Spielberg movie. Great series because it opened my ears to a US political history that I knew nothing about.
Just finished Series 2 - and certainly knew some of the McCarthy story - though the bits I knew about were hardly touched, in turn revealing a whole backstory I knew nothing about.
A large number of characters in Series 2 made appearances in Series 1. In other words a clear arc … that goes on almost the way to Nixon’s loss to Kennedy - and beyond.
AND
I never ever knew there was a ‘stop the steal’ movement against Kennedy at that time with people that went back to the McCathy area.
After the ‘titles’ some narratives that connect all that - right up to the modern day - no names per se - but the verbiage is identical.

In 2024 if you Google “John Philpin”, you will indeed find that there are two of us, but back then, there wasn’t a Google … I know kids .. hard to believe. There was something called ‘Alta Vista’ and Yahoo - but nascent at best.
