Just scanned an 🍎article about muscle dysmorphia … As far as I can tell a cat in hell has a better chance of living than me suffering from the disease.
Our Dear Leader
… not as depressing as you might expect. In fact some are quite inspirational!

QE2 Obituaries That Are Different
I am sad for the loss of the Queen, but ….
There cannot be life without death, it is inescapable.
💬 Keisei Tagami
That said, most of what I am reading and seeing leave me cold. Nobody knows the private story of the woman. Nobody.
This is brought home when reading the 4 articles on the click throughs … four different links that tell the story in very different ways and are not the usual fodder.
The Guardian: When we asked the Queen to tea with Paddington, something magic happened.
Gaping Void: 8 Lessons from QE2
David Frum: How she did it
The Drafts conundrum that results from Apple’s staggered iOS releases is surely a problem that many developers are facing.
Labor Day - the truth about labor is that we don’t ‘rate’ it …
Things Aren't Always What They Seem
Harder Than It Looks, Not As Fun as It Seems is a short neat article on this very topic.
Reminds me of what my mum used to say to me …
“If you only judge your friends by their photo album of course it will look like they have a great life.”
💬 My Mum
or as Morgan has it ….
“It’s easiest to convince people that you’re special if they don’t know you well enough to see all the ways you’re not.”
💬 Morgan Housel
That all said I think I disagree on this ….
“no matter what your role in a company is, your ultimate job is to help sales.”
… ‘revenue’ maybe - but not sales. I think there is a difference.
Guns bought through credit cards in the US will now be trackable.
What a great idea. What a concept.
Quick question … it’s September 2022 - its taken till now to work out that this might be an important part of gun control?
This week Rob Long’s ‘Martini Shot’ Just Look Up - talks about the TV/Film world - with lessons for everyone. Central theme; “if it’s not broke - don’t fix it.”
As always, media is the focus - but I can apply the lessons within to a lot of businesses. Tech anyone?
A new term (to me at least) ….
‘Trussian ’ …
… a follower of the new PM in the UK.
Apparently today is Grandparents Day in the USA.
Why don’t we simply allocate every day of the year as ‘Another Card Day’.
Again, look at that blank sheet of paper. What’s the overriding question that continues to haunt you?
- Who am I?
- Why am I here?
- How do I find meaning in meaning?
💬 Julian Summerhayes
I started to properly look at the new Steve Jobs archive site and think I now understand why there is no RSS .
Two Dave Winer Quotes
“There ought to be a law. If I can subscribe without talking to someone, I should be able to cancel that way too. I was interested in subscribing to the NYT crossword, for $20 a year, but their policy for cancelling required me to converse with someone at the NYT. I know why, they want to try to convince me to stay. My time is worth something, though they don’t think so.”
and
“You can fake caring, but you can’t fake showing up.”
John Pilger has a way of summarising issues that few (any?) others do.
On iCloud Shared Photo Library
“I look forward to taking a sabbatical to combine my photo library with my wife’s.”
💬 Stephen Hacket
😂😂😂😂
I do so know what he means!
So can we assume that the unofficial micro blog discord server is defunct?
Any other discord servers I should be on?
