Trouble shooting two totally different problems on two totally different macs with two totally different user accounts and after constant narrowing down of the issues in those worlds - BOTH come down to the user - login as a different user .. the issue is not there …

  • Problem 1 - MSoft Office crashes and hangs
  • Problem 2 - a stuttering mouse on any browser if going through Bluetooth

FTW 🍎❓

I now have everything I need to set up an Obsidian Vault with all the links, text, video and images I keep there being exposed on a web site - wiki style!

I have called my new ‘Wiki’ - Notes.Philpin.com.

As I type - just ten posts there - and readying it to begin a careful migration.

Excited.

What is it you ask? Let me tell you…

Blot now supports Obsidian-style media embedding!

That is ![[image filename]] - in this format renders an image in Obsidian - and now on Blot.

I have been storing my Blot files in iCloud since David diversified from Dropbox - years ago - and I have had literally thousands of files at https://archive.philpin.com (Those files are now offline as I am rebuilding a new world.

I have also been a user of Obsidian since it came out - but struggled with how it fits into the rest of my off (and on) line worlds of note taking and sharing.

And at a stroke, David Merfield - he of Blot fame - just delivered an update to Blot that I requested a while back thinking how cool would it be if ….

And then not only did he do it, but I received a personal email from him - specifically replying to my email with the request.

Friggin Awesome.

😂 - Spotted On The Interwebs …

My wife and I are sitting on the couch watching TV and I hear a text, realising I left my phone in the kitchen, I get up, go to the kitchen to check it … and it’s a text from my wife: ”Please bring the chips on your way back"

Im sorry say what?

Wishbone Ash’s The Vintage Years 1970-1991 is a strictly limited deluxe 30 CD box set.

30CDs does not count as ‘limited’ and I think the ‘vintage’ years stopped around the mid seventies - and at best - early 80s - and yes a lot of stuff post early 80s - but vintage?

🪦Wait - et tu Rick? Last month? I am clearly behind on the news. Your early years were absolutely super - and foundational to my musical explorations and development.

🪦Wait - John? Really? I’ll put on some Blues - so I don’t get moody. Thankyou sir.

“deal guys” like him had succeeded because they were prepared to leave the details for later …

Said a certain son in law of a certain president about a certain peace deal.

Just planting this here for now .. and likely to return to in the not too distant future.

Wikipedia … #TIL

The British groat was struck throughout the 18th century, though by the 1800s it had come mostly to be coined to be given as ceremonial alms at the Royal Maundy service. It was resurrected as a circulating coin in 1836, as the Royal Mint sought to fill the gap between the penny and sixpence. The fourpence was chosen at the urging of the politician Joseph Hume, who noted that fourpence was the cab fare for short journeys. The new coin did not endear him to hackney drivers, who previously often received sixpence without a request for change, and they gave it the nickname “joey”. There was also confusion between the groat and the sixpence.

It seems odd that we aren’t hearing more about GOP states openly gerrymandering their districts in advance of 2026 - and nobody seems to be reporting on it - at least not very much. Shocked? Not really.
