US credit bureau Equifax has formed a partnership with South Africa-based Entersekt, a company specializing in customer authentication and device security.
Equifax has licensed Entersekt’s Transakt solution, which it said will add an “extra layer of security” to protect Equifax customers' information online when using Equifax services. This move is almost certainly a response to the enormous data breach Equifax suffered in September, in which the information (including addresses and social security numbers) of some 143 million US customers, and 400,000 in the UK, was compromised.
