.. there are 8 billion of us .. one ring to serve us all didn’t work out too well ..
.. as for forcing Apple to make iMessage cross platform .. that, I think, is govt overreach .. and a distraction … you want to message people not on Apple .. two choices .. don’t or download one of many apps that allows you to do that. Forcing Apple to join in destroys any idea of building differentiated apps. So why would anyone bother? Meanwhile in Facebook there are billions of people locked in to their algorithms .. and crickets.
I personally would like Congress to force Coke to share their recipe with Pepsi so that I didn’t have to make that choice either.
