@pratik as always interesting ... I think there are a lot of low post levels on many sites - which would explain the numbers.

I also think the 'community' side is over blown - i love you all - I really do - but MicroBlog is not a community.

Partly because there are so many features and functions that make a community really work that just aren't here - not saying I want them mind you, just an observation that despite the advertising - you can't be a desert and shoeshine.

Feedback is non existent - for all the right reasons - but is surely part of community.

Here's what I know - my experiment of 5 years and counting continues. Basically if I find that I am not following someone - I rectify that immediately - except I do NOT follow Masto in here. I did when it first came out - but it destroyed what I was trying to do. I think they are all gone - but every now and the one pops up - and I unfollow.

This means that I think that my feed is as close as you can get to the 'non public firehose' ... I donโ€™t track and read assiduously - but I am surprised how often I can scroll down the feed from the latest and earlier - and hit the 'yup - seen this part before' point - quite regularly.
