@hjalm Cocteau Twins - massive fan - This Mortal Coil is another in that slice of genre .. oh and Dead Can’t Dance and Portishead.

Rush … musically yes - but I really hate Geddy’s vocal style, so hard for me to go deep in them - but genre wise definitely overlap with a number of bands I enjoy - and some even love.

Deftones - not so much, don’t really know them to be honest - but heavy metal I rarely get to - much less very heavy metal. Not sure how their sound relates to Tool - a band that I have tried more than once based on friends recommendations who know where I gravitate musically

Re the new bands - tbh - had not heard of any of them - so looked them up ( but not listened).

Airiel and A Shoreline Dream both sound like bands like Secret Machines ( that coincidentally features on one of my 🖇️albumwhale lists .. but that whole psych rock world I do lean into … Godspeed You Black Emperor and British Seapower (now ‘Seapower’) to name a couple more

Adding Super Furry Animals to that list - not high on mine - but definitely in that world and the friend that put me onto them was absolutely hooked.

83M - another one new to me — a heavier Air? All the pedigree is similar - but guessing you lean into more heavy?
