There is nothing you write that I can take real issue with (at least that I can recall), I think it is in all honesty it primarily lies in ‘style’ - and maybe the phrasing is as a result of it English being your second (third?) language? Me? I only have the one - I am that sad.

Surely a blog is what YOU want, because to write and illustrate for the masses is a fools errand. Your own blog is testament to exactly that.
