React.js deemed too complex and not in the ‘spirit of Wordpress’. But there is ClassicPress, an alternative to WordPress without Gutenberg & React.js

WP 5 with Gutenberg will be available this month. What do you think? Storm in a tea cup or a major fork in the road?
