I don’t no what happened before but to me it sounds like he is trying to move the focus from himself to her. Isn’t that a typical rhetoric tactic?
@jemostrom - Agreed. This guy's a jerk. He's done a pretty good job of hijacking the entire conversation to be about that term, rather than anything substantive. It's unfortunate that the video doesn't give us any of the context leading up to the interaction (and keeps cutting), but I have little doubt he was being a jerk to her just beforehand. She called him out on it and unfortunately he just used that as an excuse to contiue to be a jerk.
my 2 pence - from the comments it sounds like he was using his understanding of a process, as it’s sounds like Katy is new, he makes later comment “welcome to” but it sounds like he was using a condescending mechanism about to not answer a question and then he flipped the use of the word mansplaining into an attack to basically be really horrible and turn the whole thing away from whatever the original question was. He should look at a current dictionary. The term I would say is now used generally about anyone explaining something in a condescending manner. But he just needed something to attack. To call hypocrisy was a joke, white men have too much power anyways, take a chill pill 💊 She was calling him condescending and that didn’t stop when he went on the attack either way. I wonder what they where actually trying to resolve in terms of governance more like a school yard
