Is it just me? I want Chrome on my Mac for when I need it. I do not want it to open at startup. I change my preferences accordingly but every time they do an update, or maybe it is something else(?) - it once again adds itself to my ‘open at startup’ settings. Friggin' annoying!
Martin McCallion I've disabled the auto-updating thing. But I don't remember it ever opening at startup. Just the updater, which, as I say, I've disabled. System Settings, Login Items, toggle 'Google Updater' off.
Frank McPherson I see this behavior and share your frustration. I've pretty much moved to Firefox as a result, but occasionally I need to use Chrome and I do the dance to shut off open at startup.
