Not a BIG fan of Hanks’ acting (but I definitely don’t not like him), this conversation with Ezra Klein significantly opened my mind to him - and the opening 5 to 10 minutes is all about typewriters and typing!
🎵 Listened to a 🎙️podcast featuring Simon Armitage. I did not know he had a band. … LYR. During the podcast there was discussion about why the band is not called ‘Land Yacht Regatta’ - and if not that - why not L.Y.R. ?
He wasn’t really sure - Label decisions he said … but I think I know.
L.Y.R. - not my cup of tea at all - that I jumped over to listen to is definitely a very different band to LYR - a band that is very much my cup of tea.

I wish Petersen, Rogan, Marr et al gave as much thought to the guests on their shows. Of course, there is a consistency to the places he has appeared.

I have been struggling with a newsletter recently. Unlike the podcast - it isn’t about suicide, but rather - how people are remembered after death. (If you know the movie Coco - it relates. If you think about tombstones - it relates.) The 30 second clip gets to the nub.
