Experimenting With Footnotes
🚧 I wanted to write this post as a permanent test of applying ‘footnotes’ on my blog.
Here in the time line it is almost certainly going to look weird if there isn’t a title - but the idea is to improve the reading experience on the site - and then of course explore what it might look like in an RSS feed.

The footnotes aren’t coming through hyperlinked. YET!

📺 What Is Truth?
I recently watched the TV series of Fargo seasons and came to realise that the ‘True Story’ theme of Fargo … where none of it is true … is itself a theme throughout.
It explores what different characters believe is their truth … and who are we to judge?
Example Scenes
Final Scene - Part One - of Final Episode of Series 3 of Fargo
Final Scene - Part Two - of Final Episode of Series 3 of Fargo
“Fiction is the lie through which we tell the truth.”
Albert Camus
Side Note
The actor who played Varga in Series 3 ( David Thewlis )has just popped up in a new series - Landscapers with another favourite of mine - Olivia Colman.
Landscapers is a true story - not like Fargo truth - real truth! Proving that truth is indeed stranger than fiction.
Web 3 - Whatever That Is!
To understand what I mean - you might want to check out this earlier post. Meanwhile, on my personal thoughts microblog, I have been collecting a series of links - you can find them here.
Meanwhile, I was thinking that it probably makes more sense to include them on this blog. Thus we have a new living post, starting with that list and expanding - as I find then - below.
Probably the most important blog that relates to this post is

It’s a 2020 video - so I suspect that the target date has changed - but still - am I the only person to see a problem?
I like this one a lot more.
🎶🎵 If you haven’t heard New Zealand’s Maori Metal band ‘Alien Weaponry’, you are missing out.
This video touches on my reasoning. I’m not a metal lover … but a sucker for musicians driven by a passion with a message.
The video tells the story behind one of their songs.

To me it is very clear - but it doesn’t … can’t … show in a video. You need to live in them both. Experience them.

Arguably more relevant today than when it was released in 1972.
Is America Great?
Dave Winer over on Scripting …
“I am an American, nothing is going to change that, but if you asked me do I feel this is the greatest country ever, I’d say that’s an idea we have to purge from our minds, the US is the opposite, it’s a fat, lazy, spoiled, ridiculous excuse for a country. If we want to amount to anything we need to take a 180 degree turn now.”

“Markets: After a bumpy Thursday when investors questioned economic growth prospects, stocks rebounded on Friday to close at all-time highs.”

Talking of sequels- nothing like an original idea
I always disliked Cummings - but he seems to be doing a ‘Bolton’ attack on BoJoyoutube.com/watch) (BBC : YouTube)
… so now I am not sure I know which side I am on.
Noam makes some very good points
… and the US gets so pissed off when other countries try to shape the US narrative.
