Yesterday 🔗🎙️ Timothy Rybak and Kara Swisher

Today 🔗🎙️ Christopher Lyon with Lyndsey Stonebridge talking about Hannah Arendt

One common observation. by Timothy and Lyndsey (I paraphrase)

Trump is an overweight, obnoxious nothing - it is the apparatus around him that is the problem.

At the beginning of the year I had grand plans for this series. A daily long-form post about something that was rattling my brain that day. And then life. For a while, I was even just dropping markers - to revisit. I came to realise that part of the problem was the complexity of the structure for each post - so that went away. Simplicity really is rather nice. As I write on 240413, I am now going back and filling in the gaps. PLUS - unless something strikes me immediately, I will not classify until the end of the day and go back to move one of the posts of the day into the 366. Also - if you are wondering how I have update the words at the bottom of over 100 posts at a stroke, well - THANK YOU Andy Sylvester and his Glossary plugin.

📺 Citadel ★★★½

📺 One Lane Bridge

Two seasons worth. Another in the style of ‘Kiwi Scandinavian Noir’ 😁. It’s not a cracker - but good enough to watch both seasons over time. (Trust me - there are many a show I start - never finish - and a review of which you will not find in here.)

📺 The Brothers Sun

Despite writing this back in February - it didn’t. Quirky. Funny. Great Action - and Michelle Yeoh. I mean - c’mon.

‘Truth to Power’. Solid, gritty, Brit detective drama.

📺 The Gulf

Coincidentally found myself living on/in ‘The Gulf’ when I discovered the show, so watched it with a little bit of a ’travelogue’ perspective. 😁 One of those dark Kiwi shows - they seem to be emulating ’Scandinavian Noir’ - if that is a term. If it isn’t, it should be. Great show.

📺 Gray

Arguably formulaic - but something about it kept me hooked. And ‘Cornelia’, don’t you love that name? If you like this genre - it is well worth a watch.

📺 Ripley

Started slow. Continued slow. Finished Slow. And I loved it. The Black and White cinematography was superb. More in those grey tones than color could ever do. Have to say I was nervous of having a longer version of the film. No worries. Totally different.

Talk About Misguided and Fucked Up

Apparently, Murdock and Musk were on pace to receive the RBG Award? Nobody thought .. hang on a minute?

It gets worse. Below the fold …

Two other ‘awardees’ were 🔗 Michael Milliken

.. and 🔗Martha Stewart

… and yes I do understand second chances and all that - but still .. am I the only one out here on the edge - again?

IMHO .. Sly was the only one who deserved to be on a short list to begin with.

Love to know the backstory.

Wondering if anyone saw this ‘post’ of mine from earlier this year.

(NO response at the time 🥺 - but if you have ‘replies turned off - it would have gone straight by you.)

Been bouncing around since then - and I keep coming back to 🔗 Daylite - a Mac only app - BUT seems to be very powerful. Finally took a dip into their 2 week trial - and talking next week - but anybody got any thoughts, comments, thumbs up and down »> other than thePRICE $$$$ - yeah - now I recall why I didn’t commit - but then if it stops me spending time in twiddling with stuff - maybe?

Have I mentioned before that I like 🔗 🎙️ Rob Long’s Martini Shot, short entertaining, great story telling about the entertainment business - and ties back into broader business - this one feature Karl Lagerfeld. My take? We all have a ‘little Karl’ in us.

Remember all that kerfuffle about Apple and Beeper - well - as reported just this week Automattic just bought Beeper - which personally I thought was a GREAT move. Even greater - in the same week Beeper launched their new app!

Installed - and ready - because even without iMessages - I still have a Unified Inbox for everything else.

And - not that anybody is watching me - but why this article should pop into the stream today - I have no idea - but it’s all about those other Beepers!

Two pieces that in some ways seem to contradict each other and themselves - even down to one being quite serious and the other with more humor.

and

That said, you can read both and wonder where you fit on the spectrum, because to me it is not altogether clear.

🔗 A Failed Rock Adaption of Dune Might Have Starred Mick Jagger, Orson Welles & Salvador Dalí (with Music by Pink Floyd)

.. personally, I see this as one of the world’s great successes - how near were we I wonder?

🔗 108 companies, graded from most to least racist.

It’s a start, but I wouldn’t take it as absolute - to me the more interesting info is in the footnote ..

NOTE: The companies listed in black are federal contractors. The companies in gray aren’t.

The sheer number of contractors ‘in black’ could surely be reduced by a little more vigilance in the government to at least reduce that number - maybe others will then follow?

🔗 Porn showing the way again?

We know that the Porn Industry leads the way in adopting new technology to redefine itself.

Not once or twice - but continually. Only Fans might be the latest example.
