"Season of the Witch (2002 Remix w/o Horns)" by Al Kooper, Mike Bloomfield & Stephen Stills

Listen on Apple Music

A song covered by so many - over so many years - but surely this is the definitive ... Bloomfield, Kooper and Stills for 11 minutes.

A Hatred of Immigrants by Immigrants?

A veritable conundrum - or maybe it can be explained.

"iFiesta Fatal! (Album Edit)" by B-Tribe

Listen on Apple Music

I was on a work trip in Finland. My hosts decided to expose me to some Helsinki night life. I can still picture it all - but sadly no pictures to share. At one point we were in a bar/restaurant/nightclub - which it was dependant on the time of day - and this music like no other swept through the whole place and I just disappeared into it.

This was the track. Got back to the UK - bought the album - and it turns also out their second - clearly wasn't in the vanguard on this one. I also bought 3, 4 and 5 as they came out - they never failied to suck me in.

There is a sixth - do not own it - but of course in my online library - though a little different to its predecessors.

And all of this came to mind yesterday as I was wrestling with 🖇️ my blog issues - to pick one random post that didnt arrive until today.

BUT - iFiesta Fatal! kept me sane.

Abba - Meet Pink Floyd

I don’t really understand the concept of listening within a genre or making music within a set of stylistic limitations.

Inventing the modern world while pretending not to ...

Between the end of the Middle Ages and the start of the Reformation, society underwent significant changes while quietly laying the foundations for the modern world. Or did it?

Zingo Zingo - What you going to do-e-o

Zingo had the idea six to ten years too early. Timing, infrastructure, incumbents and a government willing to let you operate matters more than being first. A lesson for us all.

You Don't Get Your Teeth Back

Sartre warned us about procrastination. He was talking about the human condition - but it equally applies to how organizations move, how people engage, and why waiting for ‘perfect’ means you never move. And by then, your bite has gone.

I think it might be who you hang out with

Brit here - and though Björk does not sit at the top of my favourite artists - she certainly is no where near the bottom and I do not recall that particular refrain ever being that common - which might explain her Wikipedia entry.

📺 Parish 🚧

My Review - despite Giancarlo .. overall .. yeah - no.

Webrings

Nearly time to switch them back on.

A Podcast and Transcript of Peter Kafka Talking to Roger Lynch

Roger Lynch reveals that Condé Nast’s survival isn’t about scale or content volume, but about brand authority and direct audience relationships, he suggests that when Google search collapses and AI platforms commodify content, only publishers with deep trust and “taste” that machines can’t replicate will make it.

Forgive or not to forgive. That is the question.

🖇️ Kind of related to this … Galloway and Swisher recently debating Tucker.

When Can You Swear?

Leon reposted this 🔗 Disparaging Nouns | Forking Mad+ … with some commentary. Got a couple of comments back in turn - so I thought I would pop over to see what was being said in context - because personally I had never heard of ‘walloper’ … Brit here with a ‘lifetime’ in the USA and 6 years .. so far … across the Tasman.

But then he moved on.

When I first saw this film … film, not movie - film … I logged it as one of my top, personal favourites of all time.

My opinion hasn’t changed.
